At the Severn Valley Motorsports in Telford, Shropshire UK, they built a Supercar killer. It’s a custom Nissan Quashqai, which at 1100bhp is the world’s fastest SUV, capable of in excees of 200mph.
The Qashqai is one of Britain’s most popular motors but it has never been associated with high performance. But now a British firm has turned the modest car into a behemoth capable of outrunning the quickest of supercars.
It is quicker than a Mclaren P1 – and costs a whopping £275,000. Engineers at Severn Valley Motorsport, in Telford, fitted the Qashqai with a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged engine which now develops a staggering 1,100bhp.
This gives the five-seat family top of the mighty top speed, the Qashqai also has brutal acceleration, going from 0-62mph in just 2.7 seconds. It will do 0-124mph (200kph) in 7.5 seconds and cover a quarter-mile sprint in 9.9 seconds – crossing the line at 144mph. The McLaren P1, meanwhile, will do 0-62mph in “less than three seconds”, 0-124mph in seven seconds and the quarter-mile in 9.8 seconds.
SVM’s Qashqai has the underpinnings from a Nissan GT-R sports car.
